Less than a kilometer outside of the village Rechnitz in the nature
park of Geschriebenstein is the Scouting Center of Burgenland situated in
an attractive countryside.
The Scouting Centre is allways open for troops from all over the world and
offers a vast of possibilities for action and adventures in its close proximity.
All necessary infrastructure and supplies can be found in Rechnitz (medical practice, pharmacy, shops, supermarkets..).
The surroundings of the camp site and the close swimming lake offer plenty of possibilities for activities in nature, sport, fun and adventures. Through forrests, wine and fruit gardens lead paths for hiking and mountain biking to places called Lockenhaus (Castle, pilgrim church, mueseum), Schlaining (Castle, Peace Centre) or Bad Tatzmannsdorf (museum). A climbing
wall of the Austrian Alpine Club can be reached in 20 minutes walking distance.
For adventurous games in the wild you will find the so called Faludital valley
with ruins of an old castle (Ödes Schloss). For explorers there are many
view points, castles, a botanic centre, museums, biotops, special wild herbs hills,
teaching paths for mushrooms, stones, wood, hunting, wine and vinotheks [more]
Day trips to Eisenstadt, the lake called Neusiedlersee aswell as the castle Burg
Forchtenstein are possible. The close border to Hungary (Steinamanger: 15km)
gives chance for a short term visit to Hungary.
Further you may use the camp site to attend courses in the close Peace
Centre Schlaining.
But above all there is a veeerryyYY HUGE MEADOW and a great cross
country area!
Roughly 300 x 700 meters!!
Fuel wood and wood for constructions are available for free.
A room with 12 beds and another with 18.
A leaders room wit 6 beds, refrigerator
For reasons of hygiene bedclothes are required.
A big kitchen and lounge for 20 people equipped with 2 gas cookers,
1 gas stove, refrigerator, deep freezer, cupboards.
A small kitchen with electrical stove, refrigerator and cupboards.
There are no pots, crockery, cutlery and any other sort of kitchen stuff.
Sanitation facilities with hot water, 2 washing rooms, 6 toilets, 2 showers, special room for leaders.
Hot water and kitchen cookers are supplied by bottled gas.
